Post No.1
My general topic to research is social networks, more specifically, how have social networks been in the past, in different ways, to satisfy our needs? This topic took me on a wonderful adventure, exploring such websites as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and StumbleUpon. Each of these websites (besides Facebook and Myspace) have a unique function that the common man can utilize to improve his quality of life. Facebook and Myspace are useful social networking websites that allow people to connect virtually. They basically take social interaction and make it possible with anyone you want, at any time, anywhere. Twitter is a little different. Twitter has a similar goal, but accomplishes it with a slightly differing philosophy. Instead of dealing with photo albums, games, and notes, Twitter focuses more on what the subject is doing right now. StumbleUpon has a completely different function. StumbleUpon works in sync with other social networking sites to provide news custom tailored to the user. All of these social networking sites has its own place, and improves the life of the user in it's own way.
